About

Dr Kirsten Protherough

My name is Dr Kirsten Protherough

I'm Dr. Kirsten Protherough, founder of Upskill for Frailty, and I am passionate about empowering domiciliary care teams to support frail individuals with the highest level of skill and compassion. With a background in geriatric care and as Chair of the Community Hospital Association, I've seen firsthand the incredible impact that well-equipped carers have on the lives of older adults.

Upskill for Frailty offers targeted, practical training specifically designed to build confidence, improve outcomes, and help carers recognise and address the complexities of frailty.

My goal is to bridge the knowledge gap in frailty management, enabling care teams to provide the timely and effective support that truly makes a difference.

I also want to bridge the gap between health and social care enabling proactive care, reduced emergency unplanned admisssions to hospital and swifter discharges so clients do not undergo hospital acquired decline

Thank you for the work you do, and I look forward to the possibility of partnering with you to further enhance your team’s expertise in frailty care.

Elderly hands

Really clear and concise information. Sometimes subjects like this can get too confusing and overwhelming but this went through things in a very step-by-step and informative way, with plenty of helpful resources.
